GOLDEN TULIP HOTEL
Area: 1.5 Acres
This was a project of adaptive re-use of an office complex into a hotel that had a very limited outdoor space and a terrace at its disposal. A lofty framed structure was designed to accentuate the front entrance drive that led to a drop-off court with a lotus floral motif at its centre
The swimming pool at the terrace was an engineering task where in the slab was never designed to hold the weight of the pool. This was an unparalleled pool design that has been constructed out of a metal box tank, one which never rested on the slab but its load was transferred through the steel girders to the edge beams of the building. The elegant severity of the design with high constraint of space and structural limitations makes this design exercise a memorable experience.
